Life with Less Plastic

Plastic Free July is an annual campaign that asks people to pledge to avoid single-use plastics for 31 days during the month of July. Begun in 2011, it is sponsored by the Plastic Free Foundation, which aims to end the global ecological crisis of plastic waste.

There are both environmental and human impacts of plastic pollution. To learn more, visit EPA’s Impacts of Plastic Pollution website link.

Our aim is to encourage everyone to carry out the Plastic Free July effort all year long. To help, we’ve put together a short presentation titled Life with Less Plastic. Our presentation offers three different plastic awareness challenges you can try, along with a list of eco-friendly substitutes for common single-use/throwaway plastic items we encounter daily.

Citizens Against Ruining the Environment (CARE) is also happy to present Life with Less Plastic in person. We have found from past experience that lively discussions tend to occur when people gather in person to discuss this topic! If you are interested in arranging an in-person presentation, email us.
