Plastic Free July
Begins Tuesday | July 1, 2025
Ends Thursday | July 31, 2025…but keep going if you can!
Plastic Free July is a worldwide campaign that asks people to pledge to avoid single-use plastics for 31 days during the month of July. Begun in 2011, it is sponsored by the Plastic Free Foundation, which aims to end the global ecological crisis of plastic waste.
There are both environmental and human impacts of plastic pollution. To learn more, visit EPA’s Impacts of Plastic Pollution website link.
Join Citizens Against Ruining the Environment (CARE) in the Plastic Free July effort. To help things along, we’ve put together a short presentation titled Life with Less Plastic. Our presentation offers three different plastic awareness challenges you can try, along with a list of more eco-friendly substitutes for common single-use/throwaway plastic items we encounter daily.
CARE is also happy to present Life with Less Plastic in person. We have found from past experience that lively discussions tend to occur when people gather in person to discuss this topic! If you are interested in arranging an in-person presentation, email us here.
